About Us

In 1928, the International Association of Electrical inspectors was formed.  In 1935, the Virginia Chapter was formed and serves our communities as an organization for answering Electrical Code questions and assisting in the Code Making Process for the Electrical Inspector and the Building Official.

In 2004, 10 Cities, Towns and Counties in the Southeastern area of Virginia found the need to form the Eastern Virginia Division to better serve the Inspectors with the various Electrical Code issues and a forum for discussion and Educational Opportunities.

In 2007, the Division petitioned the VA Chapter, the Southern Section and the International Board of Directors for a By-Law Change which would enlarge the Divisions geographical area to that of what it is now.
